Seriously….there should be a page limit when writing about parmenides. I’ve pretty much gone in circles….what is, is. and what isn’t is not….seriously what more can I possibly say without seeming like I’m BS’ing it?

Spending my birthday reading up on the presocratics…like a NERD :)

For the most part, I acknowledge that class warfare exists and that poor communities are neglected both by state and federal governments…but the more these protests go on the less credibility they seem to have. It’s like that joke,” how many protesters does it take to change a light bulb..none because protesting doesn’t accomplish anything.” Don’t get me wrong, the protests of MLK and Chavez were powerful not only because they were consistent with their demands but because their goal was concrete and attainable by means of civil reform. We can complain all we want but the fact that those occupying said places lack consistency in their demands, let alone a reasonable agenda they’re ultimately wasting their time. It also raises the question of whether or not their demands are realistic…sure economic reform is attainable but not overnight, are they trying to sell an abstract concept of economic change? Do they think that protesting will wake people up and cause a chain of events where the rich pay for their crimes (since when is enjoying the fruits of your labor a crime?)? The presence of punk, hipsters and new-hippie movement at the protest either have nothing better to do or follow the crowd because protesting is fashionable which is just fucking sad.

I think that those with a legitimate right to be pissed are our nations veterans. Men and Women who fought in wars (legal or not) who still don’t have benefits and have to wait for medical boards to review if their injuries “qualify” them so they don’t have to pay for medication or treatment out of pocket. Give the vets what they deserve.
